Sign-ups to host an official spot recognized by the WWKIP website closed on May 1st, and the locations are updated here: http://wwkipday.com/?page_id=49
I hope that everyone can attend one of the gatherings near them, even if we can't converge at the same place. It'll still be cool to be out among the many knitting!
Happy knitting, guys! :o)
anyone in the south bay?
Hello, I was just wondering if anyone here lives or works in the south bay? I'm moving here, I'm living at a hotel at the moment and I'm SO BORED. I don't know a single living soul. So, if anyone wants to meet up somewhere and knit or talk about knitting, or talk about anything, let me know. I also don't mind driving a bit to enjoy some company :)
Hello all! Here's a knitting project I just finished. It's a squid, made for my friend Lisa. She always asks for the most interesting toys, so I do my best to comply. Enjoy! Current Mood: pleased
Apparently Article Pract in Oakland is getting in LOTS of yarns and are having a sale on some current inventory. The dates are April 7 & 8, and on Saturday sales will be from 15-30% off, and Sunday 20-40% off.
Thought I'd give a heads up!
I don't know how many of you have heard, but Saturday June 9th is World Wide Knit in Public Day. Last year I went to a knitting group that met that day next to the Berkeley Rose Garden, and it was pretty fun to knit with a bunch of people outside. If you want, you can go find a friend and a bench somewhere, bust out your knitting and have at it, but you can also form an official group that will be recognized by the wwkip website, which will more than likely get a bunch more knitters to show up and knit with you (that's how I found my location last year!)
If you go to http://www.wwkipday.com/
you can get all the information you need about what it is, what to do if you want to make a group, and where groups are already established. Last year there were a heckofa lot of groups around the Bay Area, but so far this year the only sign up in the whole state of CA is in the City itself. Anyone want to get a group together in their area, or do you know someone who would be willing to make a group? It seems really easy; sign up by May 25 and then show up where you said you'd be. That's... about it. And maybe you'll make new knitting friends. The website tells you everything you need to know. :o)
